Here are descriptions of the four new exhibits

MBPAPA General Membership Show – Hidden Gems, Gill Gallery

Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association’ represents the fine art of painting outside on site.  Traditionally competition plein air is required to have been painted 80% to 85% outside on site.  MBPAPA offers weekly paint outs, demos, workshops, exhibitions and contests. ‘Hidden Gems’ is a juried show for all of MBPAPA members. The well known Scott Hamill is our esteemed judge and juror. Artists selected work that explores the less visited scenes of California.

MPC Printmakers Making Impressions, Dyke Gallery

This exciting exhibit showcases the work of 40 members of the MPC Printmakers. The techniques of fine art printmaking including etchings, relief prints, monotypes, collagraphs, screen-prints, and mixed media prints reflect the best of contemporary printmaking.

Norman Muhl – In Plain Sight, Annand Gallery

We move through our community surrounded by an environment filled with shapes and colors randomly interacting with line and form, continually moving and changing our view of the world. An Artist’s job is to pay attention and effectively communicate their response. This show is a documentation of my own personal journey and a chronicle of what I found there.

PGHS Capstone Portfolios, Boyer Gallery & Small Halls

This exhibit features Pacific Grove High School capstone students who have had an advanced level of instruction in the Visual and Culinary Arts. Art students instructed by Matt Kelly are exhibiting works from their AP Studio Art & Design portfolios and Photography students instructed by Zach Weston are showcasing a body of work from their AP portfolios. In addition to the art and photography installation, the May 2nd opening night reception is hosted by Imogen Erickson’s Culinary students showcasing their culinary skills. Please enjoy the talented offerings of our amazing students at PGHS.
