News About Karen Anne’s Granola

Chef/Author Karen Anne Murray passed the Karen Anne’s Granola oven mitts to the team at The Full Irish LLC in late 2022. The Full Irish is owned by Brian Mazurek of The Bitter Ginger, Lacey Mazurek of The Saucey Maiden and Kara Stout of The Random Pickler. Together, they are taking Karen Anne’s Granola to the next level, something Chef Karen Anne had long envisioned.

After developing the product in 2004, Karen Anne’s Granola took on a beat of its own with a loyal following of customers and stores. Many of those stores were local groceries and some of them were part of the Nor Cal Whole Foods family. After 18 years, Chef Karen Anne felt ready for a change and knew there was more to come for Karen Anne’s Granola.

Since the sale to The Full Irish, the granola can now be found further down the coast at The Bug Sur River Inn in addition to still being available at Grove Market, Pacific Grove, Star Market, Salinas, Bruno’s, Nielsen Brothers and Cornucopia, Carmel, plus many more locations.

Launch of Eddison & Melrose Tea and Retreats LLC

Ever the entrepreneur, 2022 saw the creation of Eddison & Melrose Tea and Retreats LLC.

This is a tea traveler “go to” for creating a getaway or staycation in Pacific Grove and the Monterey Peninsula themed specifically around tea and a love for teatime. It is a spa like relaxation in a beautiful area with the charm of teatime included. The business boasts a Personal Retreat option which is a service that provides visitors with a custom itinerary for their visit to the area and of course includes teatime along the way.

During March 7, 8, and 9, 2023 the first Ocean Time Tea Retreat will be held, bringing visitors and locals together who all enjoy teatime. The 3-day event includes the participation of several other local businesses including Peninsula Massage, Bookworks PG, best-selling author of the Henna Artist, Alka Joshi, Naturally Chai, Zum Zum Tea, Carmel Berry Company, Poptopia Balloons, Kombi Tours, The PG Art Center, Save Our Shores and more.

The cost is $350.00 per guest, not including accommodation or transportation. Registration is online at eddisonandmelrose.com.

The Old St Angela Inn, Pacific Grove is the perfect location to stay during the retreat and is also home to pop up teatimes hosted monthly in collaboration with Chef Karen Anne.

The CommuniTEA portion of the Retreat has two of four remaining complimentary places for one of the retreat events available for a local participant who is going through a difficult time. Tea Table Book Party Events Continue into 2023 and Book Sales Grow for “Tea Table, Inspiring Teatime Creations from California’s Central Coast”

Having partially “hung up her apron” as she likes to say, Chef Karen Anne authored her first cookbook, released in 2021. There are now over 800 copies in print. The book includes a forward written by Monterey’s local food connoisseur, Raul Nava, edited by Santa Cruz County food writer Josie Cowden, and featuring beautiful photos by both Karen’s niece Sophia Sorenson and chef too. Tea Table, Inspiring Teatime Creations from California’s Central Coast. celebrates teatime and encourages readers to awaken their creativity. It’s not a huge or complicated book but one that showcases what Karen truly enjoys: life’s simple pleasures.

Karen has hosted private Tea Table book party events in Pacific Grove, Monterey, Carmel, Los Gatos, Las Vegas NV and Honolulu HW.
